it's been a while, lot of projects work and SMC
another simple one - to play with - might even give it textures to make it work - not too difficult (6 min modeling just to pass the time on my break) |

was fiddling around showing a friend the hair and fur, ended making it into a geometry and kinda looked at it from a macro perspective - so i made this easy scene
i could end up populating strains of grass with snails that are tucked away safely during the sunny part of a day... reckon with a good texture work and DOF it could look nice just a previz of the scene |

14 618 circles involved in this bump texture - model is a simple plane 2x2 segs, unwrap, Turbosmooth and binded to space warp Wave to change it from being flat

few models i did for SMC this week - so you don't think i'm slacking off
some were even textured, but it's all about the modeling so i'm showing clay |

Oh man you should really make a low poly prop from this one (normals etc
) ! ![]() Great job on all of them of coarse ![]() |

cheers Chris.Y - it just might be a good model to start with... i've created high res textures for it, just didn't make the UVW for the SMC competition... perhaps this is the time to do it on a low poly

any smart ideas on creating a scene like this?
now making an ocean via noise, displacement modifiers, maps and or A&D template water (ocean) isn't a problem - getting it realistic is. If i was to make a plane that moves across the wood and mimics the curves or the main shape, would i achieve the same desired effect - how about the texture (depth of colour etc - most of the time it's all flat looking) anyway if there are any ideas out there i'll be happy to hear them out. will start on this soon. |

u wanna look in to vray material settings, and u can achieve realistic water with a good material.
http://www.vray-materials.de/ search for water materials here, dl them, apply them, understand why are they looking good, or why are they bad. By the time u figure out, u'll make a realistic water in 10 mouse clicks, and by changing 5 different values in the mat editor. Gl

ahh, sorry mate, can't help you with MR.
Tried that out a few times, but I didn't really like it. But I would suggest to search for a free MR material database, and look how pros do it.
