Gift to the Gods - Reaching for the Gods - Turvs

Hello, this is the first time i have entered a competition on here and would like to wish everyone luck. And i think my first post as well, as i have only just thought of checking 3dtotals forum . I will hopefully finish this on time as i have a lot of college work to do and other things at the same time.

So firstly I have an image in my head which i will attempt to do a sketch of, but as i cannot sketch to save my life i will probably do a 3d concept design.

The two main parts of the image will be a huge tower going into the sky and in the background 2 moons one large and one small.

Hey welcome to the forum!
A giant tower could be epic (a bit like the legendary babel tower?)

Thanks, the babel tower was just the type of this i was going for. Still attempting to get the scene right in max at the moment, but should be done soon hopefully.

Just a really quick concept in max.

I dont really like it and most likely change it from aztec styly to more of a babel tower. And instead of a massive city around it just a few buildings maybe a street leading towards the tower. Going to make a few more concepts today after college.

I quite like this actually, I like the blocking out of the little city elements etc, it's certainly got potential, maybe you could have a massive encrusted diamond/jewel at the top like in The Mummy Returns film

Thanks, i have just got back from college so will do another concept soon. I am thinking it will either be similar to the babel tower and i think something like a diamond or gold, could be at the top as the gift.

Or the aztec style like in the picture. As aztecs did a lot of sacrificing to the gods for example over 3 days the sacrificed over 40,000 people to the gods. (i think not too sure).

Also dont rember there being a diamond in The Mummy Returns.

Yeah it was at the top of the temple that housed The Scorpion King and when they defeated him Rik, Eve, Alex & Jonathan & climbed to the top to escape the temple blowing up because the oasis that had been created was being taken back as the Scorpion King was defeated, as they got to the top they were rescued by their friend in a flying derigible and Jonathan saw the diamond and grabbed it before the temple fell.

hmmm someone watches too much mummy methinks *cough* I knew what part you was talking about *cough*

nice idea, if you are sticking with this style tower, I'd personally like to see it higher... it is the gods tower after all. 40k dead bodies would also make a pretty impressive tower/gift to the gods

Ok then having a power cut that lasted nearly all day and had no time to do the concept i have just done it now. So then i made a babel tower but now i think its too big and the sections are definatly too big.

Also i forgot to remove the small aztec tower in the bottom of the scene.

very cool. i like the tower idea better than the pyramids, i feel it gives a better scale to the image and it looks like the whole city was built around it

Thanks Stoneking and sarN. Ok then after looking at more pics i have changed the concept to get a better look at what it will look like. So firstly i will probably remove some of the top segments on the tower and going to add giant stairs going around it, also for it to look right i am going to have to change the size of the city to fit the towers size.
