Gift to the Gods - Matte Painting - Jaxko

placeholder, I see a lot of people have misinterpreted the theme and thought it was "gift from the gods" am I right that it is the civilization giving the gods a gift?

placeholder.

I think its open to interpretation.

"All we ask is that your image fits under the title of 'Gift to the Gods'"

Lovely concept, I know it's a quick painting but it's getting to the point straight away, do you plan of modelling the huge statues or sculpting or maybe a mixture of both? The landscape would be a huge task to model unless you're considering compositing together with 2D elements

I might just do a full matte painting in 2D but if necessary I could do a small camera-map.

this is the God statue in the pyramid I may be using, its called "Anubis"

about 20 mins of work so far, just getting the pyramids composition right, using layer masks to get things in the right DOF etc...
this is going to be set back in the egyption times when these structures where being built with hundreds of workers, structures and stalls.

So far the composition looks good. The statues will be carved into the face of the pyramid?

sorry I forgot to mention, this is a new concept, may be scraping the last one this one is set in the same era but showing you the pyramids being built by the slaves.

update:
may change a few bits on the pyramid and I was wanting the one in the background to be a huge pyramid in comparison but its hard to see, so I'll probably work on that too.

thanks,
Jack.
