Gift to the Gods - Call of Cthulu

I have to say that this competition concept is fantastic. I'm stoked for this one. This is my placeholder for now and I will be updating with some images and concepts/drawings very soon. My idea is going to pertain to the ocean god Cthulu and have some sacrificial scene to surround it in. I will likely be using Maya for my 3D works and possibly Mudbox for any details. Photoshop will be the software of choice for my matte painting or editing to base this image off of. I wish everyone the best of luck, this ones gonna be big!

Soooo yeh... despite the amazing Metallica thread name, I will be changing my idea to a Tiki God related background. Here's one image of something that I will be using loosely along with others to weed out a concept. The comp will have a very King Kong feel. I will be posting drawings up over the next couple days.

Alright so I'm going to pitch to you my concept for this months challenge. Please comment on what you think of it, because I will be jumping immediately into Maya and start modeling. So I have posted the characters going to be used in the image.
The beast you see in the image is a concept I created to represent a "Deep Labyrinth God" that was summoned under the command of one being. The summoning is generally done by a witch doctor or someone with background in voodoo. The beast god, when summoned, grants wishes upon every summoning, and can only be summoned the a full moon has reached its peak in the sky according to the lunar calendar (AKA not very often lol). The catch is, in exchange for the wish, it must collect a single soul upon summoning. The Beast God is basically a harvester of death that only enjoys one thing... hunting. It can only see in the dark but it has an incredible sense of hearing.
The image/comp will consist of the female character being seperated by a wall in the middle of the image. On the other side of the wall is our beast god, which will be hunting our captured female heroin. The female will be quite panicked and terrified looking since she's tied up and knows whats coming next. While the beast is aware of her prescence and minutes away from finding her scent/ or hearing her. The image is to symbolize fear which is the gift to the god since its existence rides on the hunt and putting fear into its prey. I want the image to build suspence upon first glance.
A resource used to think of the concept were the Berserkers in the Gears of War video game franchise. The creature will be made of Crystals and sediments from the earth's crust, so it will be highly reflective and specular. This also saves me some time on texturing since the creature will likely be mostly realistic materials in Maya with the addition of tweaking and post work in Photoshop.
Well that was a book, but hope I'm getting my concept across. Sorry it took me so long to get this posted but more updates are to come and more frequently. I will be jumping into modeling ASAP. Please send me some comments in the mean time. Thanks!
