Completed Church
Update: I changed the resolution and lighting a bit for web display.
Made with 3DS Max 2009 This scene is one of my first completed projects. This project has really put me to the test as it is quite above my skill level. Thier is still many flaws that I have yet to work to. The grass has been quite the challange as I am using mental ray which means hair and fur/ hair farm are quite difficult to work with, even with passes as my computer isn't per say the most powerful. The texture process has also ben a nightmare, but I am getting the hang of it now. Please give me some good critique, as I will welcome any sugestions. I have wire+clay renders if anyone wishes to see them. Cheers, Lars Last edited by Lars3D; 17-03-2010 at 05:38 PM.. |

Hmm seems the image is quite a bit blurry. I'll see if I can get a sharper quality pic.

you probably have to save for web and make sure it's under 195 kb or whatever. otherwise it compresses the crap out of your image.
the model and texturing looks really good.. but the lighting definitely needs work. it seems way too dark to me |

not too shabby, like it has been mentioned lighting could use some work and I would try and differentiate the textures a bit. Right now you have to look into it to see the difference between the roof and the brick work for example.
by the way if you want higher resolution images do not export JPEG from any software package do BMP and then change it to JPEG in photoshop per say also don't attach them, you can use imageshack.com to upload them and not loose it's quality. Good luck. Last edited by xxxcubanxxx; 15-03-2010 at 04:28 AM.. |

Nice enough model and scene, but I agree with everyone else the lighting is letting your otherwise very good modelling down. Try an infinite or area light with area shadows with a touch of colour thrown on too, because no lights are 100& white ever. Then it will transform your image

I like this piece. There are some issues that need to be addressed though. The Modeling is solid, but I'm not feeling the fur modifier for the grass. Like others have said the image is blurry.

A touch of blooming effects and over brightening would make it more realistic. Anyway , great work !
