Conan the barbarian by Bigguns

Hi all! not posted here for a long time, I started a version of Conan, I had wanted to do something medieval from some times, so why not a Conan, of course I will use my Arnold that I did before(for those who know me) and I had tweaked his face to mach more him in Conan.

But for now I post some accessories that I'm working on, the helmet and the laceneck are mapped the rest is not uwrapped, only temporare textures.

The Conan Atantlean sword is all done in poly modeling in 3dsmax, no zbrush, I want to save memory and render time..and doing some hard modeling too.

So for now it's that. Hope you like it.

Yeah! Great details, nice enough material for the hilt, not too sure about the metal material yet, but you'll need a better background or scene for it to be placed into for it too reflect better etc. The modelling looks really good though

i dont now if its the color of the eyes or the skin shader, but for now the face looks like a blend of arnold and boris becker. i´ve watched every arnold movie a gazillion times (except junior) - and the likelyness is not 100% yet.

but i already smell a frontpageplug for this piece. will follow this thread as always, when bigguns comes up with a new one. props look excellent.

Totally agree with mantis. This is really good stuff .

The top head shape looks a bit odd though... And he looks extremely sweaty.. .

Cheers

You like muscled men dont you?
Great work nonetheless Apart from the already stated likeness issue, it sure is on the way for a 5Stars piece!
Keep up!

chunkymunky: Thank you buddy. Yeah CG is cg, even ILM with a 3d scan of the arnold head of the T1 are not able to get the likeness spot on,it's hard doing this, the goal is to be close as possible, but it's sure there is always rooms for improvement. But for now, my Arnold don't have eyebrows and hair and he is already recognisable, so with the hair and eyebrows it will be just more.

Psycho Mantis : hey man, sorry but I don't know how the hell you see boris becker in him lol. You said you've watched every arnold movie a gazillion times so can you, show me precisely wich part is off for you with a reference picture from conan, I dont do him at 50 years I do him in conan, so if you can find ref of him in conan and show me wherea I can improve him it will be good, I need to see reference, not your vision to make it better, some people find he's spot on while some other not.. so in the end, I cannot please everybody. I have the 2 conan movies here.. and I watched them a lot to compare. but remembre, there is no hairs and eyebrows.. it change a face a lot! And anyway, read the comment I wrote for chunkymunky, think it's the point, even ILM was not spot on on the arnold face in t4 so.. I will see with the hair and eyebrows how it will look.

hulahuga : thank but your comment about the top head shape is kind of useless, Arnold will have long hairs.. I will not wast time on his top head shape.

DaddyDoom: Thank's , Read the comment I gave to chunkymunky there is an answer.
