Working again on lost Jungle :)

Hello all

At last here are my sketches followed by my work in progress. It's my very first matte painting and I haven't finished yet :P
The subject of my project for the matte painting contest on Lost Jungle is to make a view out of a cave and we can see a large area full of ancient monuments and strange statues imported from all around the world and placed in just one crater - The place is very mysterious but the forgotten sensation will appear quite later - surprise!!

Good luck to everybody !!

So far so good just watch out for your shadow directions, make sure your sunlight position is reflected in the same angled throughout

Thanks for your comments munkychunky Of course I will see the lights + shadows on my scene but only during the stage of post-production Actually I have nearly finished the work on the composition with all the photos so you can see the progress below.
I thought adding more statues and mysterious stuff in the middle with the trees... just thinking... X)
Any suggestions?

Hello all
I guess that you all are too busy to comment my work so here are two WIP of today (just a quick post before I go to bed 'cos so tired ).
The cleaning work of my matte painting killed me (too many details) but still horrible with no lights corrections. BTW the photo filter is quite interesting..(looks like an old photo picked up from your family album) ^^

Hello all
A quick post of my actual stage of work before the deadline of this contest.
I have just finished the correction of all the "photos elements " and maybe later I will add more vegetations for the cave. The last work to do is the lights and shadows ( the hardest job for any matte painter lol )
any suggestions BTW ? thanks !

Hi Stan,

Hehe... I'll definitely remember your name lol! You might wanna' edit your name, in the title of the first post of this thread; btw, the username doesn't matter much (you can change it later, if you wish)!

Hmmm... your progress seems nice one! But, what I'd like to suggest you is that, you might wanna' edit-out all the monuments & statues (specially the ones popping-out from the jungle); they are, according to me, not complimenting the scene much)! I can see quite a promising scene without them; you might also wish to add fog layers over the jungle and, change the sky to a-bit more interesting one!

Good luck and all the very best for the Challenges; will be waiting for more updates!

Thanks!

Hi kaustavsinha or aragorn if you prefer lol
Thanks for your interesting comments but I have already finish my work. ANd good idea for fog and the sky, but I wanted to stay in an atmosphere which is near the reality and not imaginary. Its a place where people who see my picture, will say : it really exist ?? :P lol
Regards,
Stan
