Making CG Movies and such

Was wondering if the cut scenes for games like Playstation and Xbox, and even the comp, required anything special, than modeling in the normal way, texturing good, and adding a whole lot of pixels. Also, which smoother is the best for this on human and organic models?

Though I won't use this now (Like I could) just was wondering and seeing if I need to steer toward or away from anything.

As far as I know there is nothing different from the cutscenes and anything you can render out in a 3d program, except maybe the quality the pro scenes will have.

I suck at organic modelling so I can't help you with the smooth question.
