Howdy Partner - Tomb Raider
I wasn't really sure if I should enter, I have only recently started digital painting,in fact this is my first real effort to finish a piece so all your comments would be appreciated! The idea is to have a tomb raider character on his knees looking at some wierd glowing creatures. Kind of indiana jones meets avatar. Sorry for the thread naming issue, should read rules! Tried changing it doean't seem to have worked!

So far its a pretty interesting idea. I like it.
For future note: Read the rules since they detail the naming of the thread for the comp. ________ Mexico Hotels Last edited by wargrafix; 04-05-2011 at 03:21 PM.. |

Love the light, and the pose but I think you could add much more detailing into the scene aswell to really finished it off

Thanks Chunky monkey, I don't suppose any of the moderators or admin could change my thread name to Howdy Partner - Tomb raider, as I don't seem to be able to. You can tell its my first competition!

getting a bit closer
After some advice from Chunky monkey, I decided to change the background a bit, just started, I think I may have a chracter holding a torch in the background to the left, what do you think?

Thanks for the help, I am going to put a chracter in the background to the left. I don't want to put too much detail to the right in case I loose all sense of depth.

I am enjoying digital painting it is fun! Let me know what you think. I have only done traditional art before so this is a first for me, but I can't get enough of it! If anyone has some suggestions for changes or help I would love to hear it! Thanks

its done beautifully but it still feels half waythrough.
either make the bg more elaborate or change the white light in his hand to an ankh symbol. |

why dont you just save the pic you have now, enlarge it to the proper size, then you use it as a base and remake it? it would probably go faster than you think
