Do you think that using particleIllusion is cheating
I just saw a demo n it makes Fx so much easier.
It's not afterburn but still really impressive far better than pure max(if ur a lazy ******* who deosnt like tweaking things like me that is.
Though it probably gets pretty boring when you run out of fx

i don't think there is such thing as cheating in 3d

use whatever gets the job done right

the only instance of cheating i've ever seen is something like a 3d contest where one of the rules is do something yourself and you use something that wasn't done by you. but in the end that's just hobbyist stuff too.

but i'd say whatever you need to get the job done on time and on budget is way you should go
