Hill Valley Update
OK so here's an update with Hill Valley, i've added some trees to the video wall building, some zerbra crossing posts (I think that's what they are) Added a smaller Cafe 80's logo onto one of the building pillars and pavements with curbs too.
Also trying out the buildings with some deformers too, fairly pleased with the progress here ![]() ![]() ![]()

building will look really cartoonish with this slight deformation. any chance for a end concept if you have one how you're models will be placed, something to look forward too and to guide you.

Here's a really poor concept of what I'm trying to go for
I can't draw so i've just used a delorean sketch and marty concept and slapped them together. ![]() They'll be some more props added though like mail boxes, benches maybe, lampposts etc.

i'm sure about those added props, that attention to detail was illustrated on your pub. Just hoping the textures and render will compliment the modeling, at times they can really dim the geometry and elements.
Looking good m8, do you want us to get you Renderman so you get it to look genuine! |

That's what I'm the most concerned about, modelling isn't always my biggest problem, but my lighting and texture work can let me down.

The angle looks great, gives the composition another dimension.
Let's hope the textures turn out as good as the modeling ![]()

Update
Thank you Raul i'm a big fan of your game art your a great modeller too and an excellent texturer.
Which leads me onto my very own texture tests. I've finally after many many year of avoiding it, atually tried to texture properly with Cinema 4D Bodypaint, i've actually unwrapped the texture and UV mapped it, and create the texture map in photoshop. It's nothing spectacular, but for me it's a big step in the right direction, so here I present my very first Bodypaint texture test with a US Mailbox for the Hill Valley scene ![]() Here's the ref pic ![]() And my screens...... ![]() ![]() ![]() I dirtied it up a little as I didn't want it to be completely clean. I know it's not completely accurate but it's only going to be small on the left hand side and not a close up so it serves it's purpose. ......back to Marty again.......his trainer's are proving a real challenge ![]()

Looks pretty neat actually... Some deformations on the top would be good, but overall cool

That's part I matey
They crash through the Town Hall in Part II.....because "everyone know's, hoverboards don't work on water"! "Unless you got power"You have nearly the same chase around Hill Valley but on hoverboards instead of Marty on his skateboard and Biff with his car. In part II you get Marty on his Mattel hoverboard and Griff with his pitbull and his friends hooked on to the back ![]()

DeLorean Update
Been checking out my blu ray Pixar Up this morning to try and match the style, apart from characters and vehicles the building looks nearly normal just a little chunkier and exaggerated slightly so I think i'm on the right track there.
OK so DeLorean update then...... tried allsorts of deformers last night and this morning and they just weren't giving me the effect I wanted, I tried combining taper, bend and sperical deformers....the lot...so.....in the end I simply pushed and pulled poly's into the directions and shapes I wanted. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The modelled of the doors & the tires are finished and I like to see them tapered in a little instead of straight on if gives it more style. I think i'm getting much much closer to the Pixar style with this DeLorean now....i'm certainly pleased with the progress. Textures for the Delorean will start soon(ish i'm not going to have much mud or scuff marks on the car though. From my DVD trilogy the bodywork is largely a brushed metal kinda of chrome carpaint. Still need to add a few monor details and Mr Fusion at the back along with the outatime license plate ![]()
