Movie Mashup - 300/starwars - howdy partner

Hi all. I tried to think of a way of mixing a classic with a modern styalized film. 300 had a great golden tint to it that I hope I can bring out in this image. I have done a sketch below, what do you think?

I have decided to go for a bit of a comic book style, mainly because I won't have time to finish it otherwise. What do you think?

Not a bad start, your flesh tones need to bet sorted out, but that might be down the the yellow background. Not bad at all

Love the overall mood and grain in your first sketch man, but you lost that when you digitalized it...

I'm not realy sure if you should go with a comic-style either... I think lack of time isn't a valid reason to go with comic!

Reminds me for some reason of the cover art of Paranoia RGP book (or maybe some of the inner art, can't remember)... still pretty cool though...

When I read the title I was hoping for the shield bashing of a stormtrooper by a GMC buffed up rebel jedi. I donno maybe its just me though...

Thanks for all your comments guys, I get the impression you are not really digging it, maybe a rethinnk is in order. The idea was to keep the skin tones yellowish in color because of, the overall tone of the 300 movie. I was sort of aiming for an graphic novel/comic cover look. The spartans were awesome warriors but, I think even they would be a bit shocked to see some of the machinery of the imperial army. Maybe I should rethink and maybe keep it a bit simpler.mmmmm, back to the drawing board.

I like the idea, just thought that the flesh tones could be more natural. But it's your project and you can choose to do it any way you wish

update

I thought I would go for a more recognisable image from 300. I am still planning to go for a star wars element so watch this space. So far I have gone for a comic book style which I think is working. let me know what you think.

looks good Style is neat and the likeness is there.

Know that you can use the refs a lot since any digital medium can be used and mixed and "mashed" .
