Movie mashup- Whinnie the Pooh/Sherlock Holmes (the hundred acre woodchipper)
So, I decided to go with whinnie the pooh in the steampunk style of Sherlock holmes. I've just started, and here is my Pooh head Base mesh.

Quick Update, The mixture of hard surface and organic modelling is pretty hard. this is my first try at making anything robotic, so any hints are appreciated. the circle in his belly is going to be a clock.

You know... on second thought... looking back on it.. it looks more like a mashup of whinnie the pooh and space balls. so i think i'm going to go back to the drawing board. problem is... how to make clothes...?

And which movies are you going to use now? It seems to me you're doing Ironman and whinnie the pooh now. keep us posted.

I'm keeping to the original plan. I've scrapped the robo-body and am now attempting to make clothes for a rather chubby plush whinnie the pooh. i'll post a picture of how bad i am at this.

Alright, I know that this is a competition, but there's no way im winning this... so i figure it's ok to ask for help. when you model clothing do you do it in sections, like panels, and then "sew" them together? or do your pull the faces off the model you are building and build it out of that?
also, does anyone utilize the cloth or reactor cloth modifiers to "settle" the fabric onto the model? i have no idea why clothes are so difficult. |

There is always a chance to win remember it is execution. I have seen brilliant artists work and in some contests the sum is less than the parts. You need to do the opposite make everything work well together to overcome any shortcomings. We both face an uphill battle. |

Okay, so i've tried a lot of different clothes options, and will continue practicing... here is my latest... I've also started working on the environment, but i'll post that up later.
Also... I haven't tried posing him yet... is there going to be a problem with the clothes when i try to rig and pose him? will i need to attach the clothing to the Pooh Model? |

The early blocking out of the scene is looking pretty cool, but I do hope that's not your current lighting solution too, if yes you're gonna need alot more light in there, even if it's a night scene.
If it's a day scene you'll need a nice area light with area shadows and a touch of colour as no light is 100% white. If it's night try so nice soft omni lights are streetlights, again with a touch of colour to illuminate the scene.
