That looks really nice, they make it look really easy, but a friend of mine struggled quite alot with effective facial rigging

I agree. The problem is, whenever I read articles about this sort of work, they always devolve into a platform specific breakout of all the in-house tools and custom built work solutions that seems counter-productive to me.

Granted the tools aren't the "be all, end all" solution, but when most 3d packages come with the equivalent of a hammer and a screwdriver for their animation toolset, not havin the saw, pliers, and wrench that are being used sort of gets in the way.

Still, I did take away some ideas about how to use the setup in my own way.
