You might want to consider adding more colour. Because at the moment its just grey, brown and black.
It makes it look dull. Also his walk looks a bit stiff. But what really breaks it is the fact that his lower leg "snaps" forward and his legs lock straight. Ive just walked up and down my room and my legs dont snap straight when I walk.

Krallis - Thanks for comments. I was wondering if the green was too dark, by ur comment thinking it was black let me know to lighten it up a bit more. hope it looks green now.
Raul - Thanks man for the honest criticism. I too feel as if I could have taken this character on a bit better. For what its worth I'll finish it but I'm definitely anxious to get going on the next one. Here I've tried to bring in some color. Nothing is permanent. Just trying out color schemes and shapes. Today I'll look at some military images to get some ideas. ![]()

Looks good, it looks more green now, but the image still seems dark. Also the skin seems to have too much spec. The bicep and hands look very plastic-like. Also, (probably only personal preference,) but the head seems a little flat, there doesn't seem to be much forehead showing,

YEAROFTHEOX - thanks much for commenting. The head did seem flat, i think, because it was also too wide. I tried to reduce the width a bit, so hope it shows. I decreased the specular on the skin a bit and it does look better. About the hair line, it was very unnatural, so thanks for pointing that out. I changed it some but i think it might need some more attention.
Here I've lightened up the green a bit, and edited the specular map some. At the moment I'm trying to work some weathering into the armored areas. And i ditched the idea of having padding over the armor, as i definitely need practice with texturing metal. ![]()

Here work was started on the skin, and added another color to the camo scheme. Plan is to add one more color to the camo, finish the skin, and call this character done.

I don't think the skin looks as pale as before now. However, Im wondering if it's too dark at the moment. Any comments or suggestions are welcomed.

You need to change the base colour of the skin completely.
Try an RGB value of R 251 G 203 B 157 ZBrush should also have skin shaders which could help you get a better understanding of the colour your looking for.

I've been trying to get a proper render from mental ray. But it keeps rendering out like this below. If anyone can help me out, it would be much appreciated Thanks. ![]()
