hello, im sort of new here, so i will post some simple questions i have..
any help would be appreciated. my project includes music in sync with visual effects, i love controllers! im using 3dsMax for two years, id like to have better quality in my renders. what are the best settings to render, using mentalRay? - save as a TargaSEQ, is it better in 16bits, 24 or 32? - is it wrong to play 30fps in Europe? in some fast animations 25fps are just not enough, or is it my idea? using motion blur may solve this issue? ![]() id like to post some of my tests in the future and also looking for modelers and designers to work with.. thanx in advance. |

in my experience, if you don't need transparency you might as well render uncompressed jpg images rather tha tga - they're a lot smaller and aren't lossy at 100% quality Quote:

thank you for being so helpful!
framerate is important, because my animations are music based (msec, BPM etc) audio and midi contollers included. therefore its best to work the project depending on the BPM of the audio track.. forgive me, but i needz your advice about where to export to dont care for TV, only for HD! do you suggest to export in h.264, hdtv1080p 25 and 29,97 ? is there a way through to smoothe the animation using 50 or 60fps ? |

akis, be careful with high frame rates if you plan to open the video on PC. that may cause some lag in playback
you mainly need high fps (like 60) if you have a left-to-right pan, or lots of action in the frame. remember, file size and render time are greatly increased with high fps rule of a thumb is, use simple default material via material override, render at 60 and then 30 fps. now analyze - how much difference do you see ----- www.alsber.com Last edited by Kenhennen; 27-10-2010 at 01:00 PM.. |
