You people move fast! I feel like I'm a turtle -_-

Anyway model is done, need to add accesories still and figure out a hairstyle. I've got approximately 300 tri's for that.

I will break up the symmetry some more after I have unwrapped it.
Also just spotted the arm that very thin in the silhouette shots, need to fix that.

Here's the start, have made the weapon!

One fancy katana type sword 268 tris so bit pricey hopefully worth it and may be able to get that down some.

Right better get on with the character

Khanos, you dont need that many edge loops on the blade. Since (I assume) it wont bend you only need to worry about the shape. Check my attachments for a way I would optimize it.

Also did a hairstyle. What do you guys think? Also what about the logo.. the head with the crazy hair is probably a bit too crowded, right?

I actually made 2 logo thingies. One in the hair with the beads.. but it got lost completely in the hair. And one on the forehead.

bb0x - Her neck is looking a bit long, I'd give that a quick play. Overall tho, its looking really good. The hair concept its all kinds of crazy, I think it'll work great with what you've got so far.

Khanos - 250 Triangles for a weapon is nothing. You're fine, even if he uses the 3 sword style. Make sure you do what bb0x suggest with the blade, that'll save you plenty. And yes, you best get on that character [but a week really should be plenty of time given the specs], good luck, and welcome to the winning team.

Perversonality - Love it! Very admiral-ish. The star with the logo is really slick, That came together really well.

L3XICON - Those textures are looking aces so far! The scabbard looks better now.

wingcutangel - Looks pretty good, I don't see any glaring issues with it. Ankles could use another loop or two, probably a couple other places could as well. Hows your budget?

Buzzy - Good stuff!

icex2009 - That's pretty wild, it'll be fun to see how you manage how that within the budget.

Cordero - Haha, I've been doing that histogram thing for awhile. I've found my best pack jobs get to about 85%, with 75% being about average. Poo makes a really good point [per the usual] while packing it as tight as you can is all well and good, being tidy with things can be as or more helpful a lot of times, than cramming it all in. Also bear in mind, you do need some space between the islands for mipmapping.

poopipe - Straw would be win for sure!

Wh0oSh - Textures look good. Arms look a little short, legs as well perhaps.

VersionThirst - Colors look fine. What's the black line at her elbows?

Krallis - Aye, sorry, I was on about your previous WIP, I kinda got sidetracked between the time I started typing and the time I finished, and never saw you most recent update. So with regards to that, the feet look fine. I'd make the fingers thicker if you can, they're looking very flat for fingers. Otherwise, its a little busy perhaps, but the textures can make that work.


I think I'll call the high-poly done. As much as I'd like to continue messing with it, I'll have to clean up the hair, the sash and a couple other things in the painting process, cause times a-wasting.

here's a little update, i don't know if i'll make it in time, i would have already finished, but my pc continue to freeze and reset itself, especially when i'm saving something, so i've had to do and redo the same things many times... this is really killing me T_T
btw here is the update, do you guys think there's some anatomical error, just like too long arms, or too short legs???

Hey guys, loads of great stuff!

I were busy with workin. Here's my attemp to redo some painting. Add more details, redo the mask and reduce blue color.
What do you think about new paintover? Lets me kno if it's worse than old version.

oooh wow L3xicon, thats really nice lighting. i love the subtle tint of red that gives it a warm glow. Makes it look like he's part of a larger environment
