A case of "less is more" in this instance. One is reminded of The Matrix whilst watching it - certainly an interesting angle on a racing game trailer which conjures up notions of crucial moments distilled into "nanoseconds".

I'm surprised another NFS is coming out so soon, actually. Hot Pursuit came out... this week.

Having owned almost every Need For Speed game I consider myself a bit of fan however from NFS Carbon onwards I feel the charm has gone and its just another car racing game which no longer stands out in a crowd. Do not get me wrong the 3D and graphics has come along way and this trailer is a great piece of 3D-Art, however if Need For Speed wasn't in the title would you know its Need For Speed or just some talented artists showreel? My two cents :P

Shift is very different from the other NFS games - its made by the people that did GTR and other more serious racers so it has things like understeer and vaguely realistic vehicle physics .

Im not sure what they've put in shift2 but in shift you get a lot of weird effects happen when you crash (simulated concussion etc.) and I guess they're trying to capture those moments

don't let the other NFS junk put you off buying it

My last fave NFS was Most Wanted. I am looking forward to Hot Pursuit 2, though.
