Gauravcg's Low poly props.
Hey guys due to my interest in game art i started working on some basic props i saw in games and want to share those with you....i dont know the basic poly limits but i used as less i could....(please tell me if you know :P )

You need to get in some specular. The objects are very flat because there is none specular. Put it in and the object will pop out and looks ten times better.
Otherwise, pretty good

hey, nice stuff you got here, only thing I wonder though, is it just me or do the normal maps look a bit "weak" ? (except the pillar one)

Are the normal maps from Crazy Bump?
![]() You should really give High Poly baking a try; it gives way better results ![]() But other than that, sweet works! I'm not sure about the crosses in the air vents, you could easily do that with diffuse and normal. Do keep posting! |

![]() @Zlatovous: Yeah specular maps do work real good..... @E4sY: thanks man that tutorial was really helpful..... @robbert: I made those normal maps in a filter by nVidia.....i find it easy and quick to generate maps.....i have started to work on highpoly sculpting...i find it hard to sculpt hard surfaces :P .....but will do it soon ![]() Here is a render with a specular map..... ![]()

weel you don't have to necessarily sculpt hard surfaces.. you can also just make high poly models in maya, I guess.
I don't know if it works anything like render to texture in max, but try that. |

@Robbert543: yeah in maya there is a feature 'Transfer Maps'....ill give it a try.....
Here are my recent works....... Barricade and fences......single 2k texture map for all the three props... Hope you like it... ![]()

Seems cool but I think the concrete barricade is very thin, you should make it thicker.
