Help with modeling a Blizzard Stragoff from Megaman Zero 3
Hi everyone, Im new here hehe, I like videogames, because of that I work with 3dsmax
and Im modelling one character from game Megaman Zero 3, called Blizzard Stragoff, I found few images to guide me My questions are: - When I model a videogame character, is better to join all the vertices? or I just can attach the editable polys? In this case, I dont know what to do with the neck of the character, if join the vertices with the chest or just attach them - I plan to rig the character to animate it, it is neccesary to work with the character with all vertices joint or I can animate it with just attached parts? - What another recommendations can I receive when I model videogame characters? If I made something incorrect sorry jeje Thx, hugs |

as a rule things are easier to deal with if you have a single watertight mesh - particularly when dealing with "next-gen" specs
however it's not usually the most efficient way to build something so if we're talking Wii as a target format then you proably want to be watching your polycount more. I take it from your post that you're relatively new to this game and as such I'd recommend you just concentrate on making it the right shape using whichever method you find easiest. for rigging - use bones/biped/whatever and a skinned mesh. it's much, much easier to manage than linking your final rigid geometry together. |
