Max 5 [ what the heck is going on? ]

I got Max 5.. Imstalled it and hit the run button..
1. It took a lifetime to load all the plug-ins.
2. When I try to do anything it just gets stuck or crashes.

Has any of you guys faced such problems?
Thanks in advance

We're gonna need some more info if we're going to help.

what hardware?
what version of XP?
What do you have running in the background?
What plugins?

You could always rename your plugins folder and see if max loads.. it might be a plugin you installed.

Did it ever work on your system?

If not, could be either lack of memory or outdated video card.

256 is somewhat low for running XP AND Max.

TNT 2 is pretty old, you could get something like a geforce 3 for next to nothing.

I'm leaning towards not enough memory (odd though because I think I have run XP and Max on 256 MB ni the past). You could try slapping in another 128 MB even if that doesn't help MAX it will increase your performance in XP so nothing to loose

P.S. before anything try running without Brazil.

do it with the exclusion way...it may be painfull but it'll proove usefull..

uninstall everything(I mean max and plugins of course) and then install max and run it..after that install your plugins one by one and every time u install a plugin, run Max till it crashes..and then u'll know where is the problem..

make sure you virtual memory is set to a reasonable amount, its a lot slower than RAM but just to check if your low on ram it will work. But ram will help a lot also, nothing to loose there.
