all that matters is the end result. If it's smooth when you apply subdivision so be it.

So far I think you are going in the right direction, but we need to see a lot more progress to really give you any comments and critiques. As far as triangles, I don't really see any to be honest either way it doesn't matter too much if you only got a few, because you are doing a hard surface model. I would say for the motivation thing try to schedule out your time and set deadlines for yourself, it helps me out a bunch, good luck and keep at it.

dont get me wrong here.. i appreciate the critism.. i mean i did find the ngon you were talking about.. had no idea how that happened.. at one point in the build it was set of quads.. and then all of a sudden.. a weird shaped thing with side interlapping.. all i can assume is that when i was welding up other parts.. i must have had these selected in the weld..

but anyway.. project on hold right now.. got reading festival.. hopefully when i get back from that.. i can kick myself up the arse... it so hard at times to motivate yourself.. its almost like you need a project manager breathing down ya neck making you sweat over it..
