how to Peel off Orange

hy guys. i m working on a commercial in which i have to peel off orange in circular fashion. any guess any idea would be appreciated. its very urgent if any one have got any idea.

I need it in circular fashion as shown in attached image. it should peel off in circular fashion in upward..........

You should be able to reverse engineer what Neil_F01 did with his scene and figure it out from there.

How I would do it was model the orange. Cut it up the wait you want the peel to come off. Extrude it inwards to give it thickness. Add Skin modifier and skin the peel with loads of bones (so you can be able to add twists onto the peel as it comes off).

Add a mesh inside for the fruit itself. And voilá!

It's almost 1 am here and I have to get up for work tomorrow, but I could perhaps have a quick step by step by tomorrow night.

Which program are you using btw ?

see now what i would do.. is this..

i would first start buy peeling a real orange.. all the way so the skin is off..

flatten the skin out and take a photo..

from that photo.. you should be able to deconstruct and reconstruct the sphere based on the mesh map.. that the photo should provide..

i agree with this guy...

deconstruct the orange the way i did.. and then apply a skin modifier and add bones to do the actual animation..#
