This position is dedicated to Pre-prod Concept Art and R&D.

Under the responsibility of the Creative Art Director, you will be in charge of:

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Create, and implement real-time particle effects and animated shaders
• Model, texture, animate, light and optimize VFX assets under direction of Lead Artists
• Maintain a consistent art style under the direction of the Lead Artist and the Art Director.
• Be willing to learn (and teach) new tools and techniques.
• Collaborate with designers, programmers and other members of the art team and works closely with the tools and engine depts.
• Be meticulous and organized in the approach to tasks, adhering to pipeline workflow.

Skills and Profile

• At least 3 years experience with creating FX for video games
• Solid Technical abilities to aid in creating new visual effects art pipelines.
• Comfortable using scripting tools to trigger effects based on game events
• Able to conceptualize and animate natural and fantastical effects (water, smoke, foliage, dust, fabric, spells, and explosions)
• Ability to take direction, accepts feedback, and responds to criticism positively.
• Experience in Photoshop or After Effects is preferred.

Quality is more important than quantity! This person will be responsible for creating levels with a team of artists. This artist will oversee their level production and work on key hero meshes. Responsibilities

• Lead a level team of artists in creating and maintaining visually stunning 3d game environments
• Layout, light, and set dress levels
• Work with Designers on creating a fun gameplay space
• Mentor and lead other artists.
• Create high rez models for in game assets.
• Optimize levels for performance.
• Work within the technical and memory constraints of a game.

Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of Unreal 3, lighting, level building, and shader creation
• Strong understanding of form and composition, color and lighting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Maya, Photoshop, and Z-brush or Mudbox.
• Shipped at least two games in the past five years as a full time character or environment artist.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to take and give critiques
• Ability to collaborate effectively with designers and programmers.
• Solution oriented and proactive
• Expert modeling, texturing, and UV mapping ability.
• Proven ability to work within the technical and memory constraints of a game.
• Easily forecast the amount of time a common task will take to complete and consistently meet your own forecasted deadlines.
