Well it does seem high res but I like to work to real world scale if at all possible. I measure the label and it was 22cm x 8.5cm to wrap around the bottle section so that translates to 6600 x 2250 in pixels, but in photoshop you can also change the scale to cm too
![]() Here's the zipped photoshop file it's 947KB zipped and about an 8mb file unzipped.

wires and clay for this type of a model are really simple so i went along with this composition - it's clear, just let me know if it's ok...
nothing special, just some bubbles ![]() Last edited by rocneasta; 10-04-2011 at 01:51 PM.. Reason: cause CG told me so :) |

just redid the modeling to mine after some yard work. There is no lemonade in my house, hence the pitcher of lemonade. Have to texture it before posting... The pan galactic gargle blaster is a very cool idea. Look forward to seeing it completed

Favorite drink is a tough one. But Grand Marnier is near the top of the list. I actually just went and bought some because looking at all the references was making me want it so much!
![]() I planned to make a glass of it also, but spent too much time messing around with making the red ribbon. Textures and rendering about another 2 hours (mental ray) I can't actually show the whole wireframe without smoothing because everything is so close to everything else- things intersect. So I'm showing it here smoothed, and then separated and unsmoothed. Hope that's okay! Can change if not. Last edited by RockstarKate; 10-04-2011 at 03:21 AM.. |

Wow, I was actually going to post about this but you guys beat me to the punch. There is actually a real "Pan Galactic Gargle blaster" which was one of my favorite drinks. You can get one at the Two Parrots on Granville st. in downtown Vancouver, BC. It's a multi-colored drink that consists of 151, tequila and melon liqueur. Usually found as a green and red looking concauction. (I think the one I'm talking about is #3) Anyways, I'll try to find a picture of it, but definitely a great drink with a great name. ![]()

rocneasta - I would prefer the correct compostioned images that you usually post, just because the model is simplier, does not mean you should/need to post a single/simplier set of images.
RockstarKate - Wow Kate that's a beauty of a model, a really nice shaped bottle actually, great work on the ribbon and the seal, very good indeed. When or if anyone tries to add water droplets to their bottles or drinks it's a tricky one, I was experimenting for some time and ended up greating a shader & geometry, the shader consists of smaller beads of water, water droplets and water streaks, and the geometry are for the larger droplets of water, the geometry was done fairly easily, you just simply model about 10 little spheres and make them all a little different then bung them into a null object, then into a mograph cloner, set the cloner to object, make a copy of the bottle/glass and hide it from the renderer, add said bottle/glass to the cloner and set the clones to surface and hey presto you've got water droplets, for more realism you can add in a random effector to the cloner and offset the droplets across the surfaces even more. I'm still working on my juice carton entry, got the designs finished and the modelling, but trying to get good renders out.

ClassicGamer-3DT Looking forward to your entry, can't wait.
rocneasta (Entry1) Wires are clear but I had some trouble looking at the render, the perspective gives a very distorted look. RockstarKate Nice and efficiënt modelling and even including a lovely render. rocneasta (Entry2) Whow, you really nailed it! Love the cartoony look wires look very clean as well, not too much polys. Great Entry! bgenNice model and render, only thing I'm wondering is why the render time is soo long. I've done some caustic scene tests but even those didn't had render times above 15 mins. What settings did you use? And yes, I'm also working on an entry, I've modelled 16 mins on it so far but had to lay it aside for some college work.
