Squid vs Whale

One of the classic (perhaps mythical) battles of nature. I really wanted this image to capture the drama of these two leviathan's going at each other full force.
It's based on some super stylised sketches I did a while back so there's plenty of artistic license in there such as the sperm whale having an upper set of teeth.

Had a lot of fun doing this one and was probably thinking along the lines of Lowbrow art, 20,000 leagues under the sea and a healthy dose of Ed Wood.

Rendered in ZBrush and Comp'd in After Effects.

Just found out this wasn't acepted into the gallery.
I must say I was really disappointed by this as I really put alot of effort in on this one and everyone I've shown it to has had really positive feedback.
I'd appreciate any tips of a technical nature that might help it get in there.
I'm pleased with the overall look and feel of the piece, so if the rejection is just a matter of subjectivity then so be it.

I can see why it didn't make the gallery to be honest. it's ok but could be better.

I think it looks really good. It would be even better if the sperm whale was looking at the squid, and maybe with a little bit of a snarl on his mouth.
