Architecture : Dinning room finished ...

Hi everybody ...

i have finished the dining room finally. i spent a lots of time working on this scne.
worked hard to get the proper texture and lighting. i wanted to get a photorealistic look.
the entire scene modeled in 3dsmax 5 and without using any external rendering engine i completed the scene.

all comments are welcome ... thanking you ...

hmmmmm, I'm probably going to start a fight here

Certain things are hard to quantify, but the wood is "too much of a muchness" with all the woods having very similar hues/textures. real wood is beautiful, complex and two pieces are seldom alike but in yours all the wood looks as though it's the same colour and age etc it's not a bad thing it just doesn't convince me.

Same for the "details", there are 5 place settings at the table yet chairs at the other end of the table are "disturbed" from what would be their normal position, in a room this tidy i don't think that would happen. the door handles on the cupboards at different heights may have been intended but they don't look "right" whilst looking at the cupboards why is one completely empty?

The shadow on the rear wall (the one cast by the picture frame) next to the open cupboard door bothers me as well as I can't see what would be casting it unless it's the lamp above the picture of the vases but if that was the case I'd expect the pillar beside the Mona Lise to be equally brightly lit.

i'll admit I'm probably being picky, but I'm trying to be constructive

Andy

hi ...claWda

thanks ... i thought whether i could ever finish the scene. it was impossible for me to get satisfied with the render. still a lot to do in the lighting and texturing. when i will get time i will again retouh this scene and produce a much better result.

thanks for you comment ...

hi ...Andy_k-3DT

thanks a lot for all your comments ...

yes, there are a lot of flaws in the overall scene. i worked a lot on this and still i found lot to be done.

i don't have enough wood texture. that's a major problem. i mixed wood map even with marble to get a slight different look. i should have changed some patters specially in the case of ceilings and the fitings below it.

i made that change in the chair intentionally to give it a more natural look. its impossible to line up the chair always so accurately. actully we have some door handles like that, may be it is not looking right, i will change that. the cupboard is not empty. but it is having a wood panel door instead of glass. and that door is closed so it seems that that one is empty.

yes, that shaows was a big problem to me. i would definitely try to get rid off that.

thank you so much for all your comment and i will implement them very soon.

Very good! A big improvement on the materials and especially the lighting since I saw it last!
