The trees in his back make him look like a giant. Nice brush strokes.

Nice ones, but here I got some constructive comment: You kinda always make the same mistake between face orientation and cranial volume, I don't know if that belong to your style or?
But if it's unwanted, I recommand you to make some exercice with cranial volumes. Like vampire's eye, that's some laaaarge neck. Keep it up!

Hey washaka - thanks buddy!!!
THANKS FOR THE USEFUL HINT!! HIGHLY APPRECIATED, MATE! Yeah - anatomy and volume is still a big issue of mine (still trying to get better). Yup - I really have to do some studies soon! Stuff from today - another creature portrait thing and some fun doodles, just for the fun of it. |

Aight I got it, it seems that you merge two hard lines that really aren't the same at the rim which gives that odd 2d look in the profile and 3/4 views... It worked in the mouth-open alien dude though with those basic 3d elements
![]() Also quite effective portrait, worked very well with the contrast of the red =)

You seem to be a little afraid of the 2/3's angle. Maybe challenge yourself a bit and try some perspective angles on your characters? Its obvious you have the skill, all it seems you need its to push yourself in that direction.

@ hulahuga - Thanks for you constant support, mate! What you mean exactely by the two hard lines - sorry, didn't get the point
![]() @ Avatar-3DT - Thanks, buddy. Yeah this is something I'm still struggling with. Don't know why - but every time I painted a 2/3 view, I didn't like it. But I'll kick my a** and will work hard on that - promise ![]() Some stuff from yesterday. Hope you'll enjoy… |

how are you building up the structure of your heads when trying to draw a 2/3 view? It might help if you talk about your process so that others can comment on how you can tweak things to improve matters

@ eydiiiiiiiiiiiiiii - HEY!!!!
good to see you here as well long time no see - lol! Thanks!@ Perversonality - thanks for dropping by Basically I start all my images with blocking in some rough colors or silhouettes. And than adding details and refining the whole shape. I really have to do more pencil sketches, but for now I don't want to hurt your eyes. Sometimes I start a really rough sketch and than painting over. But I think my biggest issue is anatomy - and - I really have to work on some value studies or better the way you could sculpt an image by using the right direction with brush strokes.Pls - feel free to slap me with some crits and some useful hints for books or whatever. This will be highly appreciated! some stuff from today… |

Check out "Color and Light for the Realist Painter". Great book =).
Also with the long limbed dude: there you made a bit of a perspective view of him, but you still need to establish it all way through, think what parts will actually be visible from your pov if you were to take a look at it... And also how that affects the look of the volumes .I dig that hunched dude with a metal head, real cool. The character with the robo arm or something looks a bit weird though as the arm doesn't look integral in its size and values... Also care with the bent arm as that can be quite tricky to get right. KIU! (the character shows progress with the 3/4 actually )
