Very nice sens of space. I'm not sure about the blue energy veins, kind of attract the eye off the character but overall a very nice image.

I agree with Avatar on this one, but I think it might also be a shape issue as the shapes should naturally move the eye towards a focal point/point of interest to make the image work better but right now there isn't anything that draws you to a specific point so your eye tends to wander all over the piece. One thing you could do is to build in a visible over hanging part that extends the curve of rock on the right so that the top part effectively points towards the person which will naturally draw the eye in that direction. Alternatively, if you want the bright spot in the sky to be the focal point then use less of a curve. You can also shape the ground and rock on the left to push the eye more towards the character too

Ok, so, add to the ghost some legs, a mount on its left, and change this
Quote:
Maybe robbers/monsters. And add some oranges tones on right part of the sky, and grey-blue ones (or any other cold) on down right part. Seems you're using a bit more saturated colors on your last works, I wonder why... [Edit] +1 about Perversonality's.

hi. your last painting looks realy great. you could stay on it for some more time and refine it. its one of those sketches/speed-practice peaces that deserves more love .
it would look more interesting and story-telling if you would make some kind of conection betvien both characters cause now one is half background half secondary character and the other is half main character half secondary object. so both would compliment each other merging in to one main character chain. (hope you'll understand what i mean cause its hard to translate to english some thoughts) . and a little contrast betvien colours would give the image more depth. feel free to discard my opinion cause i realy suck at 2d and my opinion can be wrong at some points . here is a realy fast PS overdoodle of my idea . ceep up creating good art and ceep ispiring me to go and start learning painting . |

Obvously the character far away is a robot .... but i would like it with little more detail and form showing up .... unless this is a frame from a story board sequence .... people would be more interested on the robot rather than the human character .... But thats me .... Anyway ... your speed painting skills are awesome man .....

Maybe I wasn't warned about some brain cloning and transplant during the night... ![]() Yes, I see a quite different image than you, it's not completly different but yes there is some differences (hopefully). So in the potential too, that's quite logical, same for everyone. Comments I did won't change a lot it's just some 2 minutes touches that will get your image "quite more interesting", but that's just my personal opinion. I can be wrong, opinions can differs, you could even do the opposite or don't give a sh*t, sometimes I comment people saying "change everything" but if I do I usually got some (approximately credited by my own experience or level of skill) reasons but the main one is usually that I just hope it helps you on your way, that's all. Last one => some Bioshock inspiration? I like athmos of the jungle. Imo paulius-st's got an intersting point.

I agree with Paulist that you could push the bluish tones a bit more in the bg, don't think you should have such an obvious lightshaft though as in his overpaint, I like the brooding look you have in yours. Perhaps add something that is left in the robot's wake or something. What you could do more perhaps is make the main character a bit more interesting, yes the robot is the focal point, but you could play a bit with the story in the posture and look of the char. Perhaps have him holding a torch to make him look waiting or whatnot, it is up to you
![]() Btw Malo, seems you are being plugged twice for the same thread in like a month ![]()

@ paulius-st - Thanks a lot, dude. Yeah - maybe I'll spend a bit more time on that one. I go the point of your suggestions. The additional colors are a good point. Thanks for the PO! Glad that i could inspire you a bit.
@ ipranawake - Thanks, mate!! Yeah - true. The thing is that I really suck at robot design Thanks for the compliment again!@ Avatar-3DT - LOL. No - it's a penguin wearing a beaver costume which is wrapped in armor ![]() @ waheednasir - Thanks a lot, pal! @ washka - LOL. True thing, mate. Thats also the good thing about art. Your comments are absolutely appreciated, mate. My biggest issue is that I quiet fast bored of my own images - but sometimes I'll step back to some older images. And thats where your suggestion will come in ![]() Not really a bioshock inspiration - just a simple shape that reads (mostyl ) as a robot.@ sadone - LOL. Thanks my friend ![]() @ hulahuga - Thanks, mate!! Like the idea of giving the dude a torch. Hey - it wasn't my fault ![]() pretty busy at the moment - hope to post some new stuff soon Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. HIGHLY APPRECIATED! |
