Smile Stefan's modeling thread

Hey,

Time to pick up 3D Modeling again. So I've been doing some thinking and I really think I'm gonna concentrate on modeling characters since of the different things I've modeled I find characters the most interesting, not just the modeling itself but designing, unwrapping, rigging etc as well. I guess this could be called my Character improvement thread because its not like I'm any good at it at the moment.

Got nothing to post at the moment but this is the place I'm gonna dump all my fails for now. Oh and if there is something to criticize about, fire away I wont mind

Hey,

So here goes, still got to model the arms, hands and clothing, I'm already working on the face in an other save but not yet ready for showing.
Still got to fix a ****load of triangles at the shoulder/neck/breast area.

Oh and due to weird shadowing at her butt-crack I used shaded mode when taking screenshots from the back

Criticize away !

Hey,

Little update, removed triangles at shoulder/neck/breast area and added a Belt with a piece of cloth sticking out (boxer like underwear):

Thanks for your comment !, I would love to agree with you but the thing is, is that I used blueprint images from 3d.sk in the viewport and the hips, back, stomach, shoulders, neck, literally everything is exactly the same and the female in the blueprint is a real existing woman so I don't understand how you can think that there is something wrong with the position and size of some of the body parts since they are a perfect match with the blueprints I'm using.

oh!! sorry! dont take this the wrong way... I just said what I felt.
so theres nothing left to criticize.
you know, women are different!!
maybe blueprints dont belong to a hot woman, or at least her back doesnt seem so hot as it should look!!

At the moment I'm working on the clothing, the head is something I will come with later on since I'm not really sure what to do with the clothing. At first I had a general idea of what I wanted but while surfing the web & modeling I change my mind constantly so I think I'm gonna do few different sets of cloths. I don't really mind doing it as its good practice and I have 0 experience with modeling clothing. for 1 of the sets I'm definitely going to use like a neck scarve in combination with a head scarve, oh did I forget to tell that I'm creating a pirate girl ?

RAWR have to keep redoing parts because I don't like the way they turn out both topology wise and just how it looks in general gonna do my 5th redo on the head and going to redo the arms and upper part of the torso till I get it right ! ...

Hello,

More of the same ****, I've redone the hands, torso and legs, the rest is the same. At the moment she looks like a whore ... I hope that once I've added the head, weapons (gun & sword) and other accessories that she looks better.

C&C is welcome.

Hey,

update on the character, added the head, hair, and 1 of the 3 weapons she will carry. I'm not really happy with the head, could you guys give me some tips on how to improve ?

C&C is welcome

Yeah the head or the face is allwas hard at first.. Take a picture of someone you know from different angels and study it a bit and compare it agains your model.
