Advice about Texturing.
At the moment i am modeling some basic stuff in Maya and little bit in Zbrush. Not to fancy, just practice how to model and learn Maya and Zbrush. But want to learn how to texture, to have some good look. But i have no idea where to start, and which programs too learn. I heard that mari is better for texturing than Photoshop. I would like to give me some advice where and how to learn to texture.

Photoshop is considered the industry standard for texturing. You can learn whatever software you wish, however if you ever wanted to get into the industry, then I'd go as far as to say that you MUST learn Photoshop.

Thanks for the advice. For texturing, do i need to know how to draw? What about color theory? I heard that if i want to be texture artist i need to understand color theory? But, what is it?

Knowing all the design principles and elements will help bring ur work 2 life... not just ur textures lol. The more u practice and the more u observe the world around u, the better ur work will become and things such as colour theory will naturally come to ya. Though knowing some fundamental colour theory will help 2
