They are designed for a HL2 mod..
Hopefully it will work with the ~3000polys... If not, then i'll lower the polycount

urm.. to keep the game running smooth, i would lower the polycount. there is hardly any detail on that gun, or knife
they look good though..but seriously, LOWER the polycount LIKE HELL.

All theese half life mods...its strange, most mods die if the game hasnt been released yet. Rmeber mattd and his "renegades" ut23k mod? It died last year, or it went inactive for a seriously long time.

The problem with most of the mods, is that they can't find a team or that the team has no motivation at all.. We already get a full team with some pros so i'm confident.. and i of course hope it won't fail :/

btw i've just finished a Katana:

I know i could reduce it A LOT by making the small thing (the tsuba) all round and fake the holes with the texture, but i like it so much like that..

yeah, well at least ur not saying "we ARE gonan complete this"
its just sometimes, when you have like an expected release date for a game and u start modding for it, you gotta make sure that everyone on the team will stick at it for that time.
you need to lower the polycounts, they are way to high. The HL engiune is advanced, but i mean thats almost a player model in ut23k! YOu definitly need to get rid of the holes in the katana, i mean, they take up a hellova lotta pollies. At least reduce the segments.

Looks great, but I agree with the polycount. It's to high, and I heard HL2 will handle weapons of +/- 2000 polys. Maybe Doom III can handle more but I don't belive 3000 for a gun.

as i said, we will see when HL2 will be released how it works with our weapons
and for the textures, another guy is in charge, i'm totally unskilled with drawing tools
though i'll maybe post some pics here when he's done with the textures

PS:Sry for the downtime of the pics... dunno when it began.. my host went down.. well.. bandwidth limit reached.. i'll upload them on another host and edit all the urls

I dunno, but when the player models are quoted as being in the 7.5k region, the gun in your first-person view doesn't sound so unreasonable at 3.2k.

I presume it is the gun that the player sees? Obviously you'll need the pickup model (lowest detail) and the model that gets shown in the avatar's hands (medium detail) too.

yes there will probably be the p_weapon & w_weapon models like in HL1.. but thats easy to do.. delete the details.. make some things a bit more 'square' and u're done..
