Antor: A human figure is something I could never attempt in a timed event. I get lucky to finish one at all with unlimited time -chuckle- Nice.

Sadly, I'm still running ideas around in my head for this weeks challenge. :|

Nope, not unless you use it for bump/displacement purposes, 10-20% then rest HAS to be modelled.

I was kicking it around, but I'm delusional to think I can hammer out a passable model in 60 minutes. That is something I would normally attempt like this: base mesh -> Zbrush -> Topogun.

I'm liking that zombie bust Ojah. It's well done.

Thanks for the kind words. For the guy fawkes mask, sounds interesting . If i've got time i'll give it a shot.
Btw Daye, only way to improve is to start modelling, just create the thing and analyze whats slow in your workflow afterwards.

I want my mummy

Ok, since i failed miserably to finish my game art challenge I decided to do something for the speed challenge as i knew i would finish this one :P

I found an image of a cartoony mummy online so used that as a rough guide.
I used Zbrush to make a very quick body shape for proportions and then chucked it into maya and modeled the bandages over the top. hope is was ok to use Zbrush in this way as it was only really for a proportions guide and at most its like 5% of the final model.
The bandages are all cylinders scaled and deformed and duplicated hope you like it, was fun to do and ill hopefully be in all the speed challenges from now on

Software: rough guide shape in Zbrush, modeled in Maya, rendered in 3Ds Max
Time: 48min
Rendertime: 1min
