Some sweet entries this week, so good to see more people joining in

At this moment i've no idea what Friday's SMC will be...... not because I haven't prepared anything.... but because i've got the begginnings of a nasty cold/flu starting, a horrible sore throat and acheing joints...not good and so much do to around the house still and client work too.

I have a few idea's brewing but it's gonna be tight getting anything modelled.

Having said that....... what kind of SMC would you really like to see this Friday? 60/90/120 min? 1/2 weeks? what subject would really get you excited?

The most popular idea agreed by more than 10 members will go ahead for friday's challenge.

-chuckle-

Perhaps, but if a model doesn't meet my own standards, I will not submit them.

Will look through the list of recent topics CG and throw some ideas out there.

Make it simple. If its flu thats about to take over, make it the next speed modeling challenge. Make next topic either healthcare or plague/disease.

Healthcare. You can model anything from needle all the way to ambulance or hospital. Beds, wise doctors, pretty nurses, the choice is your. Consult your physician before entering this competition.

Bring out your dead! Following Halloween, you can model everything sick and oozing, boils, virus, bacteria, plague carts, masks used to filter air, incenses used to repel bad spirits, disease carriers ranging from rats to mosquitoes... the choice is.. *cough cough... yours

Ad Dayes list...
wow some of those topics bring back memories (waiting for boss to finish meeting and not sitting at my comp. SO I am idling here).

Musical instrument has been one first challenges I participated it, and one of those where I had to post unfinished picture (oboe). I finished it later on though.

Robots - there has been 3 round challenge. First week good robot, second week evil one, third week battle of robots, where we could use both robots from previous competitions. In order to take part in the third one, I modeled both robots in allocated time, albeit as non-entries as both were done in the third week.

Ship/boat - I did U-Boot for that round. I have been worried if I could use Kriegsmarine flag from WW2. When my time was over, I was glad the sub had a tower. Somehow I have underestimated how difficult it is to make good and simple ship hull (with pirate competition I already knew, so I have been prepared).

Furniture. Again one of my early entries. Topic has been "sofa". I did two entries. Baroque sofa and sofas from Dark Lodge from Twin Peaks.

Footwear. I did Charlie Chaplins shoes. Without shoelaces

Meeting is over, and so this post is coming to its end as well.

I hope I will be back tonight with Halloween entry. I already know what to make.
Japo over and out

3)wooden case wth a set of something what you have in the case and how innovative it is will give u an edge over others here.
4)future public transport :hovering diskettes

nice broom Handra

For the challenges i think keeping them to 60/90 minutes maximum is good as it means people will be able to find the time to enter and also it pushes you to think more about how to achieve something in a quicker timeframe, I know when I do a challenge I also try to challenge myself so i will try to choose something that will be difficult to complete in the given timeframe so i can explore different ways to complete it on time.

as for subjct matter what I liked the halloween theme as it has quite a broad spectum of possible objects to make so maybe more themes like that, for example what about choosing a country eg. Japan, Egypt etc.. and making something recognisable to them? this allows for huge scope of models to be made and people will be able to choose something that suits there skill level

Some other examples of broad subject matter could be:
Xmas
Seasons - winter, autum summer etc.
space
nighttime
underwater
microscopic
material type :- wooded, metal, glass, ice

Looking forward to whatever the challenge is
and hope you feel better soon ClassicGamer-3DT

Some interesting feedback thanks guys! The Cold/Flu like symptoms have fully taken over now, got that horrible stuffy head, wobbley/jelly aching legs, and a real bas tard of a sore throat..... and to top it off our skybox gave up the ghost last night and an engineers is coming out to replace to set top box tomorrow, so gotta wait around for him between 12 and 2! Just one of those weeks I guess
