mr bahamut...

well, got asked to model a low poly version of bahamut from FFIX for a mod, this is what ive got so far anyways:

clocking in at 1700,

and also an aeris:

clocking in at 1500.

Still WIP so far but any C&C be good

So much for originality though

The models look okay, you might wanna add more poly's to the wings of the dragon if you want him to animate nicely

The models are for a half-life mod, so im really really pushing the poly limit as it is
I agree over bahamut's wings, theyre not gonna animate too nicely considering the lack of poly's, but if i go any higher, then hl is just gonna point at me, laugh and then die
I gotta fix aeris' face too methinks, its just looks kinda nasty.
Thanks for the input so far anyways, please keep it coming

hmmm....from the side, aeris looked a bit like the "Ginger-bread man", if u know what i mean...i mean, she's too flat, too boxy, like it is extruded from a plane with the shape of aeris.

well...then again, it may be the lights, i don't know, the aeris on the right looks fine though

I agree with Ash - she looks very flat. If you sort the smoothign groups it'll help, and you might want to move some of the verts to help round her off a bit.

Bahamut has a few areas where you can strip some polys from. The horns seem to have more segments than is necessary and you can always fuse the fingers together as you've done with Aeris

Aeris shouldn't be anywhere near 1500 polys with the amount of deatil you've got there. I'm guessing you've got a lot of unecessary geometry under the dress. The dress should only be one polygon thick, too. That should get you a couple of hundred polys back for fixing up your other problem areas, particularly the upper body. Those shoulders aren't going to take being physiqued well.

Lots of work to do, but your dragony guy particularly is looking nice. I'll be interested to see how you combine Final Fantasy with Half-Life ./
