Yeah, gidday. I'm an absolute amateur, but I can say that Gmax is a damn sight better than Milkshape3D, what with all the features and the stack wossname and the bending and the smoothing and...and... ... ! Milkshape is real basic. But if you're making models for HL (dunno about HL2. *mutter* *mutter* *hackers* *curse*), apparently you can export to .ms3d from Gmax and then compile to .mdl with the free version of Milshape, even after it's expired.

So...groovy. =)
