unwarpping in zbrush

hi,
i hope im in the right group...
i have a scanned model and ive imported it into zbrush and its topology is with tris and a texture. my goal is to unwrap it in one piece with the texture on it- in order to do that i duplicted the original mesh and use dynamesh/ zremesh to turn the tris into quads and then i've tried to project the texture from the original mesh to the duplicated mesh in several ways -none of it worked... tried the "work on clone" option did not work either.
what would be the best thing to do? what did i missed out on? would appreciate any suggestion... thank you...
