Smoke's takin part

I'm relatively new here, i'm german and 18 years old,and after reading this Thread, which is so full of truth and inspired me, I thought i'll start a thread too.

I'm really lazy, and i hope this will get me going. I'll try to do as much as possible.
Because i want to improve in hard surface modeling and sculpting.
Please comment and post your critique

gonna post the models i started last week:

Found this Concept Art and thought this would be a nice Model to practise on.


Just two Speed Models


Doing a Full body Sculpt at the moment, only torso to show atm, rest is ugly

One piece of advice, try not to rely on zbrush too much.

I will try to act on your advice.

I'm currently working on the lowpolymodels and UV's for the weapon and fire-extinguisher.
Wanted to do more, but i need to learn for exams

Thanks for the kind words, exams are over now and i got one full week holidays

So--> Updates:

Pretty much Zbrush stuff, but im planning to do some challenging hard surface models soon.

would like to hear your comments and critique

-made the lowpoly for the weapon and baked the normals:


-did a speed sculpt from a Cube (lowpoly + UV's already done):


-made some progress on the character:

Started texturing the weapon lowpoly, its still WIP need to add more detail and adjust some of the colors. Some feedback would be nice.
Marmoset Toolbag is awesome

The high poly gun is awesome, nothing to crit really - but small insight - put some screws on the rail on front barrel. Right now there is nothing that holds it

sorry for answering them so late.

@Raul:
I started with this:


Then copied and welded them until i got this:


I put a turbosmooth modifier on top of it with iterations set to 1 and on top of that a bend modifier.
i had to convert it to editable poly to model the other parts of the barrel.


i apologise for the lack of updates... exams, final exam coming near
i'm pretty busy atm

Messed around with mental ray a bit:

started doing it in 3D, still trying to get good looking hands:
