oh dear. All my 3ds max files have errors and wont load up :s

no bueno...did you try installing and uninstalling 3ds?

No not yet, ive got loads up plugins and stuff that I dont fancy reinstalling so going to try a few things first to try and get it working

Yeah about 30 of them but its the same with all if them

Tragic.....did you try to import those in an empty scene...that worked for me a long ago!

thanks, yeah I tried that one it crashes as soon as I merge them in. Ill have a think about it

i just found something about it.... look for a .bak file in the default max folder or where you saved your file....rename .bak to .max it might work .....hope this helps!
or you might try unloading some plugins......

Thanks for the help, I cant see a .bak file I'll have a play around with it tonight and see if I can get the parts in one by one that might work. Thanks again for the help

Happy to hear that

I would recommend you to use autobak files. Customize / Preferences and there Files. It saves your file from time to time. It saved me from total annihilation a couple of times
