it's not so simple, but not complicated too XD
the problem was that i were using arch&design shader, and when you use that shader you cannot enter directly in the texture as for a standard shader, so the really simple solution that i have found is making an instance of the map in a free slot, go in the dope sheet, and assign a float reaction controller to the output slot(since i needed it to work with reaction manager), and then replace the master of the new reaction with the object you want

unfortunately you have to do that a lot in max - so many things require copying to mat editor just to access the options, maybe next release things will have improved.

From what I understand you can use whatever you like for a pedestal as long as it doesn't have the things specified in the rules like body parts (although skulls and bones are ok) and weapons etc.

As long as its 3D then I don't see why there would be an issue with that.

So it's probably a bit late to help anyone, but I found an awesome unwrapping tool yesterday when I got my lowpoly done. Before anyone asks, yes I know about headus and this is way better/faster/easier to use.

Yeah, Roadkill is great, works really well and you can unwrap almost anything pretty quickly. It gets a little finicky when you start tossing nGons at it, but that's pretty easy to avoid.

Love the name too....because it flattens everything.

another question XD
since i can't decide if i want to keep the 4 arms or discard the 2 backarm and add a sword, can i use the 4 arms in the presentation shot(so that i stay in the 10k tris limit), and add the sword in the beauty shot???
it shouldn't be against the rules, or not???

you cant add geo to the character for the presentation shot. But, if you had geo hidden and your tri count was still under the limit with the hidden geo counted, then you could unhide that geo for the presentationm shot.
