Here some first ideas sketches. I'm aiming for some kind of a heavy armored general ghost. Got a mechanical arm on the right, to support the huge tank-piercing long range rifle.
What do you think?

Cool concepts Alex, personally I like the cloth element of the 3rd with 1st armor design.

Without the cloth/cape, the first one reads to me as just your average "warrior" type unit, I think the cloth elements of the other two really help to sell the idea that its a stealth unit.

I think I'd kind of like to see the torso/cape of the second one, on the legs with the cloth of the third.

The head on the second one, really says "scout" to me, which works for a stealth/sniper unit, but its hard vote against a skull type head like the third has. Maybe worth exploring a mix of the two?

Thank you guys for the inputs and crits. I agree with you Warlock 279 and StandArt regarding the cloth. I was thinking the same.

Meanwhile I googled some more refs, and will hopefully be able to post an updated concept soon. I was thinking to use some lether elements as well.

The rifle is just placeholder, need an update

This is my final concept. I was planing to draw the back and how the weapon unfolds. But I think it is better to block this in 3d. It takes to long with my limited drawing skills.

... so here is my first blockout. Not finished jet but shows the direction.
The helmet has two stages. Skull-scout or telescope-aiming mode.

Move on to the weapon. No idea what it's gonna be.

Cool, maybe you could put the cloak more on his right shoulder. Helmet works very well in both stages.
