Lightbulb first crude sketch

He lost his legs doing the war, they were however replaced by wheel. He moves by dragging himself forward and support from the engine. He is a melee fighter and his weapon is knuckle spikes enhanced with magic.

The mech is from warhammer 40,and might be inspiration for the robot part of the character.

This is a very crude sketch sorry for the lines, crits and comments most welcome.

My only thought would be he looks like he relies on the hands to move, which would make him mighty inefficient for getting around. However if you made him look as if the wheel was balanced by itself and that alone would be his method of getting around, I think it could work well.

I like the exhaust elements at the top and back.

Sketch 02

More sketching. Tried to do some of him balancing, so he had his arms free.
5 shows the character doing a jump attack while speeding forward.

Next I will try to do a sketchy block version of him in max, and see if I can get the balance and silhouette worked out.

Not sure if he is a cyborg or a human yet leading mostly towards a human, but with a kind of prosthetic robotic lower half.

Right now the idea is that his weapon is basically his hands and gloves and the spikes on his knuckles.

3d sketch

Thanks for the comments

Did a 3d sketch, to get a better view and understanding of the figure.

Chain whips are awesome but I am not sure it will work here, I think that fists and knuckles would be his choice while driving. I think it would look weird if he had something in his hands while moving.

For the fist weapon I like these pictures, but I would probably exaggerate a few spikes a lot.

head sketch

Finally I got some time to work on this project. Did some sketches for the head and engines. I tend to shade everything to much when I draw so this time no shading strictly line drawing.
Let me know what you think, personally I am leaning towards number 10, even thou he does not look human.
I have made a very basic low poly for the body ready for zbrush, I will post it when I have made the head as well.

Your concepts are pretty nice, some good energy there, but what really sells this for me are the movement boards, those are excellent!

I'm liking 2 and 6, I'm not really sure why, but I think the goggles add something to the character overall, course their appropriateness could vary depending on the rest of the character.

Nice start, I think this has some good potential.
