DWIV - 3D - Greg_Brown - Cleave

I did a quick concept sculpt just to get a feeling for shape. I'm considering making the succubus demons limbs wings, I'm not sure if I want the limbs penetrating the back of the elbow, if so then they should be longer.

So the basic idea behind this character is a winged succubus. This demon is generally small and not very useful in battle. It's ability to bind with living victims provides it with a vehicle for battle. Any living creature can be a host. The host creature is slowly transformed to fit the succubus' needs if bound for an extended period of time.

The succubus head has no lower jaw and is hinged in multiple areas to allow for ia more varied host attachment.

The race is demons and class is Abomination.

I got a little further on fleshing out the general form, made some significant changes to the succubus demon, I don't think I am going to go with wings now, probably stick with the limbs and figure out what I want to do with the musculature. The head chest and upper arms area are intended to show a reduced mutation effect when compared with the legs and lower arms. this is due to the additional support in those regions provided by the succubus.

This is turning out to be pretty fun, I love figuring out purpose while designing. I'd love to hear some criticism.

That's looking pretty cool. I'm interested in seeing where this is headed.

I'm just posting a screen grab with contrast to try and better show what I'm going for here. I think Ill be playing around with the parasites head tonight. Thinking about a more human-like skull for the parasite, maybe with an extended mandible, sort of gargoyle-ish. But I'm still interested in creating a fleshy insect. I'll have to scribble around tonight and hopefully be closer to my final form tomorrow. Oh and about 4-5 hrs so far, just trying to nail down my aesthetic.

Would be really great to get some critique.

Thanks

Thanks.

Made some quick form changes. I was thinking that the chest, upper arms, and head are essentially supported by the parasite. So these areas may not be modified and beefed up like the arms which would be needed for combat and the legs for increased power and agility. It also might add some interest having a more subtle or natural human form trapped in the modifications imposed by the parasite. Also beefed up the parasite arms as they will be more responsible for support within the forearm / hands of the host.

Also did a few sketchovers to show some thoughts on giving the parasite a pelvis and legs to wrap around the body and secondary "hugger" arms wrapping around the torso. Fooling around with the idea of a stomach mouth. After all this thing has to bite the heads off of pitiful human warriors somehow ya know.

Maybe the demon should form more of an armor of sorts as it wraps around or binds to different areas of the body? Maybe some armor should grow out of the modified flesh? Thinkin outloud...

I'd drop the mouth from the stomach. The host should be passive leaving the parasitic demon to be the aggressive part. Wrapping around a bit more certainly makes sense, though I think I prefer it immerging from the back as you had it before the paint over. Perhaps adding something coming out of the hands would add something instead of the mouth idea?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. Yeah, the mouth in the stomach is corny. I made some more modifications. I'm just trying to get a general morphology that works and is balanced. I think I found what I'm going for in that respect so gonna get back to modeling tonight.

Love to hear what ya think. Still need to do some messing around with the parasite head.

That seems to work a lot better and I'm very glad you got rid of the mouth I still think it might be nice to have some feeler tendrils coming out of the fingers/knuckles/wrist though

I'd have to agree with Perversonality about dropping the stomach mouth. Concentrate on refining the puppeteer . I really like the large claw arms like a praying mantis. It's definitely a better direction. Keep at it man.
