A clay render is usually a stochastic or GI render with a subtle amoutn of shadowing and nothing else, no textures or shaders or materials. These are one of many methods that can show off the models detailing very well.

There are actual clay textures out there, but that's only if you wished to use a matcap and export your model into Zbrush or something.

Uusally the clay render refers to that of a GI render within whatever software your using.

A noisy version of Global Illumination usually takes longer to render and has a set amount of fixed points to calculate the GI, usually aretefact free aswell opposed to the normal GI.

Hey, I've had an idea, how if, when the results for a SMC are out, you mods edit the title and rename it something like.... "Final results- smc XX - (name of the challenege)"

This way its easier to know what challenges have the results posted
