Exclamation Biped Just Won't Move

Hi guys,
I'm in a trouble here.

I just created a biped and I wanted to rotate and move it a bit, but the figur does not move at all. I'm in no figur mode or any other special mode, all I want to do now it to move that biped around, but I can't!

Why, man? Why?

Can anyone help me?

to move / rotate the entire biped you have to select the root object, named Bip01 by default. It's the little diamond inside the pelvis. you can easily select it in wireframe mode. but it's movement is also divided in tracks: move horizontal, move vertical, rotate. switching between those should happen automatically, but go check anyways, it's on the bipeds motion panel under "track selection".

let me know if this is what you are looking for!

man, it didn't work at all

Hello again,

I've tried it in every possible way, like you said, but this thing still resists to move or rotate. The Track selection is on by default, when I try to move the biped, but I still can't move or rotate anything.
You know, the arms and legs and head can be moved around, but the COM and the pelvis stay still like nailed.

Any other idea?

hmm, very strange. I tried to recreate your problem, but my com never gets locked.

I searched on cgtalk.com for an answer and found posts of people having a similar problem. apparantly this is a known bug in CS and they advise you to reinstall

Indeed, strange.

I tried to re-install Max7 yesterday, but it didn't work. I really tried.

I'll install Max7 on my windows 2000 partition and see if it goes there.

Man this can't be true that one copy works and another copy doesn't.

hi clalan (and everybody else who's read this post.)

In meantime, the problem was solved by itself. I've just installed sp2 for xp and installed max 7 on a new partition. Now it works...hopefully without any futher problems.

The 2nd installation made on within the Windows 2000 (with SP3) was sucessful too.

Don't ask me what the problem was, as long it's solved, I don't care.

Thanks for your help anyway.

Spent two days trying to figure out why biped is not moving at all in move all mode. That's because it was linked to a dummy object. Just unlink the biped and move all works just fine.
