dynamesh

After watching the ZBrush Summit I decided to start with a dynamesh sphere for the head. I would have built a Zsphere armature, then hit adaptive skin then dynamesh. I like Danny William's @pointpusher's work flow- it's like sculpting in clay. I set up the only reference I'll be using. I pulled the reference from the Diablo 3 game guide.

dynamesh2

So what I was trying to do with spotlight didn't work. I wanted to use the two images as reference as I worked but while in spotlight I could only use the move brush, not the claybuildup or standard. so I used an image plane instead. but couldn't figure out how to move the image to the right, lol. anyways. I started the head-dynamesh at 128 res.

note

So, I was sculpting the head, spending time on it then realized in clay I never do that, in fact matching a head to a body in clay causes me stress, lol. My new plan is to build a silhouette using Zspheres then dynameshing from there. And, just in case any one wonders why I don't post more often than I have. it's because I have a non-creative day job, I don't have a vehicle so I spend a lot of time commuting. I WANT OUT! I'm not good with technicalities (yet) but my imagination never stops. you tell me a story, I'm creating the visuals in my head. you describe a creature/monster and I'll conjure it instantly in my head and can via ZBrush. Thank you 3dtotal for the awesome resources you produce and I have to thank Pixologic for creating such an awesome artists' tool. stop by later tonight for some more progress. Peace.

Mordidak, the mighty Imp

Here are some doodles I did trying to figure out what the imps teeth will look like. still not sure. This imp of mine. He's not like the rest attacking mindlessly. Before him, imps were like piranha killing and tearing their prey apart in frenzied swarms. Now they hunt and attack like wolves. He is the most intelligent of all the imps, the first of his kind. He is the Mighty Imp, Mordidak.

another doodle

Here's a possible idea for Mordidak. I want his teeth to be visible but not necessarily exposed.

Reference

I put together a reference sheet. Not so much to duplicate the anatomy of the earthlings I've selected but mostly for influence and inspiration- They're powerful. On the sheet I also included some imp pics I found online.

quick sculpt

Here is a quick sculpt based on my doodle. I'm not going to go with this one. I'm going to make a full figure out of ZSpheres, adaptive skin, then dynamesh. The ear is masked. I had just pulled it out from the skull.

adaptive skin 1

this is the adaptive skin from the zsphere armature. I might push and pull some more before hitting Dynamesh.

Here are some teeth I ketched while riding the bus to the job. I decided on the bottom teeth.

hands vs claws

Hello.

On my ride in to the job, I tried to figure out what Mordidak's hands will look like. but decided to design them in ZBrush. I'm not comfortable drawing in 2d.
