have you played with the size of the horns. As they are now, I think you could do more with them. Like make them bigger, to the point that they curve under his arms and come back up the front. But then, it might be too late for that. my fault.

i looked back at the dom war rubric, and i realized my character wasnt much of a prince, so i think im making an abomination. because of that fact, i decided to do a rotten flesh study. also i did some thinking about the horns, and they seem like they might get in the way with certain motions, as well as not having much evolutionary logic as to why they exist, beyond looking cool, so i might redesign them a bit, maybe not going all the way around, or maybe closer to the way i had them before.

his butt looks too small & pointy. that and the feet need a bit o' work. Other than that he's starten to look like a real warrior.

I really like it. Check transition between head and neck. The rest of it is good. Might be that legs are looking to small which would make him slow in combat. Have you been thinking of giving him a ride?

i made his lower half slightly small to make his upper body look bigger. my idea was to make a big slow character, that wields a heavy weapon, so i can have him fight a fast, agile, ninja-like player character, who has weak defense, but makes up for it with speed and attack variety. (im thinking the contrast in fighting styles might make a good animation). in my mind i keep thinking that this is an abomination, and that he has to be easier to defeat than a prince or a lord. instead of making a boss character like everyone else, i wanted to make a common enemy, that you fight multiples of. maybe i could make the legs a little bigger, but i still want his knuckles to be close to the ground for sweeping horizontal attacks (think god of war cyclops). ill definitly work over the neck some more, maybe even making a skeleton to fit things correctly. im at around 5000 tris for my low poly, so i have room for a mount and a weapon, but i dont really want to waste all of my texture space. maybe an encorche boar, or a bone dragon demon thing? it has to be big and tough, like a buffalo or a bull. ill figure that out once i complete this character first. im in school now, and im already neglecting my homework for this competition, so i might not have time for a mount.

cool design dude i like his floppy ears hehe.

you might want to make your muscles feel a little more puffy cause right now they are a bit flat. you might also want to double check the shapes of his Glute muscles and his obliques.

i think that fight could have alot of fun interaction: he does a low horizontal attack that has to be jumped over (side flip), a high horizontal attack that has to be ducked, a vertical swing that can be dodged with a side roll. if you get too close he grabs you and throws you, if you get too far, he charges head first with his horns. you can damage him extra by making him charge into a pillar or wall, or hitting his weak point, which will eventually be covered up with breakable armor, or just damage him normally, by using ninja weapons (sword for close combat, throwing stars for ranged combat, smoke bombs/grappling hook/wall jumping for evasion). he could be an early boss fight, later becomming a regular enemy, and towards the end, youll have to fight 3 or more of these things. i would like to make at least 3 variations of this character, each with different horns, skin color, strength, and weapon (axe, mace, spiked club, animal bone). i believe speed should be separate from strength and endurance. the slow strong guy should be able to kill you faster than you could kill him. i would like to make a game where you get killed in 1-3 hits, but you have infinite lives, respawn where you died, and deaths only count towards rank. that way the game is forgiving for casual gamers, yet challenging for hardcore gamers to get the flawless victory achievments (maybe unlocking somthing noticable, but not affecting game play, like costume upgrades). a story that involves ninjas fighting demons will no doubt be pretty cheezy, but i think good gameplay and art could make up for a cliche story. plus multiplayer would be varied if you could choose to play as a powerfull demon with slightly different controls. i may also need a third character type, somthing in between, with average defense and offense, not too fast or slow, like a knight class. i may be thinking too far into this... for now i should just focus on completing this character for this comp.

i will study goat and tiger legs to get a feel for what i need to make, and maybe ill add a small tail. seeing as how he already has hair on his head, maybe leg and arm hair could work. i dont know how well hair will fit in with the loose fleshy look, ive never seen the two put together, but its worth experimenting with.

Looks awesome so far. Looking forward to see the improved legs you're working on. Dunno if hair works well...

ive been looking into it, and the legs are too small, and the hair doesnt fit right. i think i will make multiple creatures with the same proportions, this one being a demon, the next being a minotaur, then a lion version. ill save the fur for the other ones, and keep this one reptilian/scabby/fleshy like.

i started adding some fleshy random detail, and im not sure where im going with this, maybe in the wrong direction...
