Bone not influencing the skin weights in the right way. Please help.

I'm skinning a character who's got buttons on his shirt. The buttons are a separate mesh and not a part of the shirt mesh (that's how clients want it for reasons best known to them). I'm just not able to get the buttons right. Inspite of weighting all their vertices to the single bone which is influencing them (and that whole chest area), it appears to move away from the character as he walks (as shown in the image). All that mesh area where this button falls is influenced by the same single bone and I'm just not able to understand what is causing this problem. I'm using Maya. Kindly help, it's urgent

Thanks in advance.

Nevermind. I figured it out. It was the mesh I deleted the top tow buttons and duplicated the one at the bottom and it worked perfectly. Pity, I ended up wasting so much of time on this petty issue when the problem was something else.
