Lowrez poly

Hello guys, I am brand new too on that forum, but you will see me often... I like this idea to share comments and advices on 3D work...

I am doing a concept Flying Zepplin Bike... It is still in WIP, but I had some pre-textures on it... Give me your hints and possibly what I can do to get that better... Thx

Pretty neat idea there! My initial thoughts are that the texture style is all over the place- but I know its a WIP. Other than that the mesh-smoothed polys of the bike don't match with the blocky looking zeppelins. The zeppelins aren't necessarily blocky, but the black bands wrapping around them make them appear that way.

Also since this is the low poly forum, I will say that some areas of your model look a little too high poly- for instance the handlebars and the springs near the wheels. One thing with low poly stuff is to try and keep the mesh density of your model fairly consistent throughout. If your tri count for that model is indeed around 100,000... I'm not too sure many game engines would delegate that many polys for a model like that =P

Really cool though- I want to see some textures =)

also 60k polys is a bit high for an object like that. especially one to be considered low poly. the zeppelin is prepped for sculpting.. maybe you should experiment with normal maps. it also looks like you are using renderable spline for the fan. try also experimenting with alpha maps. remember. the true key to low poly is getting your textures to look like they are high poly. there is not a need to go so high poly on a mesh unless you plan to use procedural shaders (which it actually looks like you've done on the bike)

edit: YAY! 400th post.

Low poly???

ya guys, it's true, it is definitively not really a low poly project compare to the other stuff in this chanel.... I should post it in concept or 3D something to publish it. But thx anyway for the comments, at least someone gave me some hints
