AndrewQ – Snow Creature– Deep sea critter

There are so many incredible ideas going on in here, I have to enter! Here is my concept. Some stuff going on that I haven't tried before, but I think my plan will work.

I'm going to build the inner body, the outer transparent body, the arms, eyes, and bony mouth parts all separate and fit them together using alpha and emissive maps.

It should work, but I will do some tests first.

This guy is found only at incredible depths on the icy world where the temperatures are even lower. The only thing that keeps the seas from freezing over are the powerful tides and high salinity. This creature feeds on smaller organisms that are lured towards it's mouth where it then pulls them in by rapidly sucking in water.

lotuseater: I don't do low poly very often, so i thought i would go overboard and make this guy REALLY low.

edragon: lol, it's only deadly if you are small enough to be eaten by a 3 inch long fish.

Here is the progress so far. Basemesh knocked out no problem, some quick zbrush work, and playing with some materials in maya. Nothing final yet, but it's staring to take shape. Next I need to design the lure, I think I might make it a little joke or something. Like, a sandwich, or something weird like that.
